Some things come and go, but some of those things that were supposed to go never really leave. There are things that once were popular, but have since been replaced by better technology, but that does not mean they can be replaced in the hearts of some people. Vinyl records are one such thing that some have refused to let go of, and still have in their homes. They may prefer them for memory sake, or they may prefer the unique sound they have. Most of them are now hard to replace, though there might be a case where you can get lucky and find what you have lost. Once warped, it is hard to get a record flat again. Also, unless the record is being played, it should remain within the dust cover it came in. If you don’t have one, find one to use. You should also keep your records where they will receive relatively the same temperature day in and day out. You don’t want them freezing and reheating, and you certainly don’t want them sitting in the sun. There are some home recipes out there for cleaning such a material, but you may want to go ahead and buy a commercial product made just for that purpose. Because vinyl records are still used by many disk jockeys in clubs, the cleaner is easier to find then you may think.
